Pedro , who fled from Venezuela, escaped through the perilous Darien Gap — a rugged region of undeveloped jungle along the border of Columbia and Venezuela. The Darien is one of the largest migrant passage routes in the world. Pedro now lives with other unhoused migrants in Northeast Washington, D.C.
