"A Home in Exile: Refugees in Washington, D.C. Region" is a multimedia project that shares the experiences of some of the thousands of refugees and asylees in the Washington, D.C. region as it relates to the recent spike in xenophobia and anti-immigrant sentiment in the Post-Trump era. Participants in the project speak to the circumstances that have forced them to flee their homelands. This project incorporates not only still images but also video interviews, audio recordings, and written narratives. This project aims to foster empathy, compassion, and understanding among viewers, and encourages them to connect with the refugees on a personal level.
